Your contribution!

Reporting to the Director – Tax, you will be responsible for supporting the tax team in its efforts and will make a significant contribution to the mission and objectives of the tax group.

Your day-to-day!

  • Support the team throughout the entire tax provision process, including managing the relationship with the external auditor;
  • Collaborate in the preparation or review of amounts and their presentation in the financial statements;
  • Validate and review the assumptions underlying the provision;
  • Analyze and document positions taken on complex tax-related matters;
  • Coordinate certain analyses related to the consolidated tax provision;
  • Assist the team in updating and analyzing tax financial projections for Canadian and foreign entities;
  • Collaborate on the tax optimization of the Innergex group using the group’s tax financial projections;
  • Support the Treasury department with inter-jurisdictional fund transfers and coordinate the preparation of the legal documentation required for various cross-border transactions;
  • Review tax assumptions within the group’s various financial models for both development-stage and operating projects;
  • Conduct research and document tax positions of interest to the group;
  • Coordinate certain assigned mandates and review aspects of the work performed by external consultants;
  • Monitor developments in tax legislation and ensure the group’s compliance;
  • Track evolving tax measures specific to the renewable energy sector and propose tax optimization strategies;
  • Contribute to special tax mandates;
  • Participate in the development of tools or presentations to communicate and simplify strategic tax concepts for various departments or executive management;
  • Propose continuous improvements to processes and tools beneficial to the tax team or the company as a whole.


Your skills, our requirements!

  • University degree in accounting, law, or finance;
  • Completed or ongoing training in taxation, or a combination of training and relevant experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in corporate taxation or within a large accounting firm;
  • Knowledge of international taxation is an asset;
  • Knowledge of tax structure planning and optimization is an asset;
  • Strong desire to learn new things combined with a strong practical sense;
  • Excellent analytical skills and organizational skills;
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-growing, international environment;
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.


Additional considerations!

  • The position can be based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
  • This position is a P3 level.
