We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled POS QA Analyst to join our QEA team. The primary responsibility of this role is to test and ensure the quality of the Xstore/POS systems to meet the functional requirements and performance standards. You will ensure to provide the highest quality deliverables for each release and support high quality automation test engineering, test plan and principles, adhere to QA best practices.

In This Role, You Will

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for POS systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing of POS systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security.
  • Take automation ownership and lead automation activities within the team.
  • Work with functional QE’s to understand the technical requirements of functionality before automating.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to align testing efforts with development cycles.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable test solutions.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and team members to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment on testing activities.

What You’ll Need To Succeed (required Skills)

  • 7 or more years of experience designing and creating Test Case scenarios, mobile automation framework, and validating data.
  • Must have 3+ years of hands-on with Point of Sale (POS) systems and devices, specifically for POS Mobile Devices and Mobile POS Platform.
  • Ability write code in any programming or scripting languages – Python ideally would be an asset.
  • Strong experience in creating test data and end-to-end testing for POS devices/applications.
  • Validate transactions, payment processing, receipts, inventory integration, and loyalty programs.
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and assist with production deployment validations.
  • Good understanding and experience in Git process and CI/CD integration.
  • Experience with JIRA for project management and defect tracking.
  • Demonstrated skills using code repositories like GitHub.

What Will Help You Stand Out (preferred Skills)

  • Experience with Payment processing and understanding how payments funnel through the POS system to the bank.
  • Retail industry experience preferred.

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 90,000 – 110,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial well-being.
