ISL is seeking a Senior Bridge Specialist to join our expanding structures team in our beautiful Burnaby and Langley, BC offices. The scope for the role depends on your experience level, but in all cases, the focus will be to continue the growth of ISL’s structural engineering services in Western Canada, which vary from standalone bridge design to coordinated multidisciplinary projects in support of our water wastewater, landscape architecture and transportation engineering groups. Regardless of your experience level, you will be provided with a tight-knit group of dedicated engineers and technicians and a mentoring, motivational, and collaborative environment to thrive.

Your cover letter must demonstrate:
- Your experience and passion in bridge design
- Your desire for continuous learning and advancement in the industry
- Why are you interested in working with the ISL team?
- P.Eng. designation with EGBC or the ability to transfer
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience within the Bridge Consulting Engineering industry
- Proven ability to deliver bridge design and / analysis projects from start to finish
- Proven ability to market and procure projects
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff within a team environment
- Excellent report writing skills
- Preference given to candidates with experience with BC Ministry of Transportation & Transit or similar provincial clients (e.g. Alberta Transportation & Economic Corridors)
- Seismic design & retrofit experience an asset
- Suspension bridge & cable stay experience an asset
- Familiarity with Canadian design codes and standards
A Little More About the Role
- Technical Design of bridge and transportation infrastructure engineering assignments.
- Senior Technical Review and Guidance on bridge projects.
- Assistance with Business Development and Proposal Preparation.
- Contribute to the development of Project Delivery Standards.
- Some travel between offices may be required.
- Technical mentorship of junior & intermediate staff.

Depending on your experience level, the salary range for this is:
- $150,000 - $175,000 (based on a 40-hr work week, not including overtime)
