Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse shipper/receiver for our Feed Mill company. The shipper and receiver plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain operations of the company. This position is responsible for managing the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring that all processes are carried out accurately and efficiently. The Shipper and Receiver will work closely with front office and mill staff to maintain optimal inventory levels and support overall warehouse operations.

YOUR ROLE

  • Prepare and process shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule deliveries and pickups.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Manage inventory levels and report discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Collaborate with Office and Mill staff to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

YOUR ASSETS

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • You have previous experience in shipping and receiving or a similar role.
  • You have previous forklift experience (mandatory) and your license ( an asset).
  • You are familiar with shipping software and warehouse management systems.
  • You pay strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • You can lift and move heavy items.
  • You have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • You have knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Full-time position with standard working hours; may require overtime during peak periods.
  • Work is performed in an industrial setting, with exposure to machinery and noise.
  • This role requires the ability to lift and move heavy items, often weighing up to 55 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and manual handling are common.
  • The work is primarily performed in a warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels. Proper safety gear and protocols must be followed at all times.
