Corporate Accountant - #443345

Our client is searching for a Corporate Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting across multiple entities within the company. A successful candidate will be eager to learn, highly adaptable to change, and driven to improve processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Oversee and execute full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for all entities within the company, including day-to-day external transactions and internal intercompany activities
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for the senior executive team
• Reconcile shared expenses and process chargebacks between related companies
• Manage day-to-day banking activities, including deposits, fund transfers and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare and file GST and other required filings to the CRA for all corporate entities
• Monitor and manage cash flow across all companies to prevent overdrafts while optimizing interest earned
• Track accounts receivable and promptly notify management of overdue or high-risk accounts
• Coordinate with various divisions to ensure accurate financial data support business operations
• Assist in preparing and submitting monthly mortgage draws
• Support the Corporate Controller with various accounting specific tasks, implementation of new processes and operational accounting projects
• Collaborate with and provide coverage for the Construction and Property Management Accounting teams during periods of absence or vacation
  
  

Your strengths include:

• Post Secondary education in Accounting or a related field is preferred
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Knowledge and previous experience within the Real Estate, Property Management or Construction/Development industries is considered an asset, but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across all areas of accounting
• Proven ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-organized financial reports, with effective verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience with Sage 50 and Sage Intacct is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, is valued
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a wide range of personalities, work styles, and organizational cultures
