About The Opportunity

Our Not-for-Profit client is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support their Business Services team. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal departments to ensure the effective and compliant procurement of goods and services. You'll lead procurement planning, coordinate competitive processes, and help the organization achieve best value while aligning with internal policies and public-sector standards.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define procurement needs and assess risks and opportunities
  • Recommend procurement strategies based on scope, budget, and regulatory requirements
  • Draft and manage procurement documents such as RFPs, RFQs, RFTs, and EOIs
  • Assist in developing evaluation frameworks and support the evaluation process
  • Oversee procurement lifecycle activities including advertising, posting, and managing submissions
  • Draft and negotiate service and supply contracts in line with procurement goals
  • Monitor vendor performance, manage change notices, and track contract renewals
  • Provide timely advice on procurement timelines, market trends, and alternative sourcing strategies
  • Work with teams to resolve vendor issues and support contract management
  • Stay informed on procurement policies, pricing trends, and compliance standards

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary education in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related discipline
  • Min. 3 -5 years of experience in a procurement role
  • A solid understanding of public sector or not-for-profit procurement policies and procedures
  • Experience drafting contracts and managing vendor relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems
  • Experience using SAP or Unit 4
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Professional accreditation (e.g. OPBA, SCMA, or PMAC) considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

About the Job

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 35 hours per week
  • Location: Ottawa
  • Hourly rate: $39.64-$48.25/hour
