This role (Autism Consultant) is assessed as a Roamer position requiring a few days in the office (3 days per week) unless business demands require.
Job Summary:
The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Consultant will support various programs across Kinark Autism Services. These services may include our School Support Program, Group-Based Services and Foundational Family Services. The successful incumbent will be assigned to work primarily in Simcoe County.
You may be scheduled to work evenings, weekends, split shifts, or shorter shifts of less than 7 hours per day. You will be required to work out of other Kinark sites from time to time based on operational needs. As well, you may be assigned to work in different programs and services within the Autism division of Kinark and your primary work location may be reassigned within a 50 kilometer radius based on operational needs.
This is a temporary full-time role with a contract length of 1 year.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Support the delivery of OAP Foundational Family and Core Clinical services.
- Consult in the development of effective evidence-based practices for children with ASD in a variety of environments.
- Identify gaps in services, quality assurance, client experience, marketing, and advertising.
- Assist in the development of report templates and writing reports.
- Provide expert Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) clinical and consultative support to school transition teams and families for children transitioning into school as part of the Connections for Students (CFS) initiative.
- Develop curriculum and deliver sessions for group-based services, as well as content for parent education sessions.
- Develop resource materials and provide training opportunities to parents and educators supporting children and youth with ASD.
- May train new facilitators and supervise group service delivery.
- Direct services will be required in some instances.
- Some evenings/weekends will be required.
- Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or a related field**
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum three years’ experience in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Experience with development and delivery of caregiver education and groups will be considered a strong asset.
- Experience in the delivery of consultation-based services.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent computer (MS Office) and presentation skills.
- Travel is required for this position; the successful candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.
- Candidates Bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
