Date: 1 week ago
City: Vancouver, BC
Contract type: Full time
Remote

About us:

VRIFY is positioned at the forefront of the mining industry's transformation, leveraging cutting-edge AI to revolutionize mineral exploration. With a focus on AI drill targeting, VRIFY is expanding its capabilities by synthesizing vast amounts of geological information. This integration enhances the precision and efficiency of exploration strategies, offering our clients innovative solutions that depart from traditional methods.

Our mission extends beyond technological advancement. We are committed to transforming how mining companies engage with investors, aiming to foster a more transparent and accountable mining investment ecosystem. VRIFY's technology enables immersive 3D and 360° presentations that provide investors with a vivid and detailed visual context, making complex geological data accessible and engaging.

As we continue to refine our AI-driven solutions, VRIFY remains dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in the mining sector, ensuring our clients and investors are well-equipped to succeed in a rapidly evolving market.

We’re not building slides—we’re building worlds. Our immersive 3D and 360° experiences bring geology to life, and we’re looking for an Art Director with deep roots in 3D design to push our visual standard to the next level. Think game studio quality. Think digital twin-level clarity. Think damn, that looks good.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the artistic vision and quality bar for all 3D visual content—models, environments, slides (with transitions), textures, lighting, and presentation flow.
  • Lead the design and execution of interactive 3D experiences that are beautiful, functional, and customer-friendly.
  • Work with our 3D artists, designers, and engineers to translate geological and spatial data into immersive, compelling visuals.
  • Define workflows, asset libraries, and style guides to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing to align visual storytelling with business goals and brand voice.
  • Stay ahead of trends in gaming, real-time rendering, and immersive design—and bring those best practices to mining storytelling.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:

  • 7+ years in 3D design/art direction roles, preferably in gaming, VFX, or immersive tech.
  • Portfolio that shows mastery of environment design, lighting, visual storytelling, and UI/UX in 3D spaces.
  • Experience directing teams of 3D artists, designers, and external vendors.
  • Deep knowledge of 3D tools like Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Substance, Unreal/Unity, and WebGL pipelines.
  • Familiarity with real-time asset optimization and performance tuning across platforms.
  • Obsessive eye for detail and quality, balanced with a practical, production-minded approach.
  • Strong communication skills—you can sell a vision and give feedback that inspires, not deflates.

Nice to have:

  • Experience designing for technical or data-rich domains (e.g. architecture, simulations, engineering tools).
  • Background in cinematics, lighting design, or spatial storytelling.
  • Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or other interactive 3D web frameworks.
  • Knowledge of mining or geoscience (but we can teach you that part).

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary: $145,000 - $175,000 CAD
  • Health Benefits: Extensive coverage, medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Including vacation days, sick/personal care days, public holidays plus extra time during holiday season.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible work hours, remote work options plus option to use work space in Downtown Vancouver
  • Professional Development: Career growth program to help our team advance their career.
  • Performance Bonuses
  • Wellness Programs: Fitness allowance, work from home allowance, mental health support.
  • Retirement Plan (RRSP/DPSP)

Terms of employment:

  • Full-time, Permanent, Remote work in Canada.
  • Completion of a background check will be required for this position.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
