Position: 3D Designer and Illustrator

Status: Regular Full Time, 40 hours a week

Department: Architecture

Location: Richmond, BC, Canada

Reports to: Director, Slide Path


PURPOSE:


We are seeking a talented and motivated 3D Designer to join our creative team. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and creative individual with strong 3D modeling abilities and a working knowledge of design and visualization tools. While prior professional experience is not required, applicants must demonstrate proficiency through a strong portfolio or personal projects.


The ideal candidate will contribute to a wide range of design visualization tasks, working on conceptual development, environmental modeling, animation, and presentation materials for use across multiple platforms, including real-time engines.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop detailed and optimized 3D models for use in design visualization and presentations.
  • Support the creation of real-time interactive environments and animations.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate concepts into compelling visual representations.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural plans and layouts.
  • Prepare architectural and environmental models using SketchUp and AutoCAD, Lumion and Unreal Engine.
  • Participate in the production of stills, animations, and other media for internal and client-facing use.
  • Explore and apply emerging AI tools to enhance creative workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing to ensure design feasibility and market readiness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials to continuously improve and modernize our product offerings.
  • Photoshopping of designs and paint details into the water parks, the slides and slide towers as necessary.
  • Proactively following production schedules, timelines, and processes.
  • Respect for people with communication, consideration, and cooperation.
  • Participating in and, where applicable leading, department training.
  • Executing responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards.
  • Responsible for own safety - Ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Other duties as required as a member of the Design Services team.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient 3D modeling skills, demonstrated through a portfolio or project samples.
  • Competency in Unreal Engine (required).
  • Working knowledge of animation principles and tools.
  • Proficiency with SketchUp and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret design intent and contribute creatively to project development.
  • Passion for place-making, themed entertainment park design, water attractions, and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Experience with Blender, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
  • Traditional hand drawing or sketching abilities.
  • Working Experience with AI-based creative tools (e.g., generative design, AI-enhanced modeling or rendering).
  • A passion for design, innovation, and storytelling through visual media.
  • Must be capable of collaborating with and functioning as part of multiple departments.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
