Our client, a mission-driven organization committed to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices, is seeking a dedicated and dependable Junior Accountant responsible for the full cycle accounts payable function. While the organization is based in Dartmouth, NS, this role offers remote or hybrid flexibility and is open to candidates across Nova Scotia and the broader Atlantic/Eastern time zone. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, with an emphasis on accounts payable processes, invoice management, and vendor coordination.


Key Responsibilities for the Job:


  • Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and efficiency
  • Verify and reconcile invoices, ensuring proper approvals and coding
  • Assist in preparing payment runs and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Work independently to manage tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless workflow and alignment with company goals
  • Adhere to company policies and industry best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence


Experience & Attributes for Success:


  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in a similar accounts-payable focused accounting support role
  • Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software and MS Office Suite
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Highly reliable and dependable, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency
  • Adaptable and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
