Data Analyst/Data Scientist - #441504

About you:

Vital Biosciences is seeking a talented Data Analyst/Data Scientist with experience in scientific and technical analysis projects to work on a path-breaking product. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing internal data analysis tools, performing bespoke analyses to develop insights and aid the development of complex system-level applications within Vital's flagship product.

What you will be doing:

• Develop and maintain internal tools, pipelines, and frameworks for analyzing complex scientific and technical data sets.
• Collaborate directly with scientists and engineers to understand project requirements, conduct exploratory data analyses, and deliver meaningful insights to guide product development and optimization.
• Design and implement interactive dashboards and visualizations to track key performance indicators, product performance metrics, and operational processes.
• Apply statistical methods and modeling techniques to evaluate assay performance, identify trends, and support product validation.
• Prepare and refine data and reports for regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with FDA guidelines and other relevant standards.
• Continuously improve and optimize data workflows, integrating best practices for data quality, integrity, and reproducibility.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging tools, technologies, and methods in data science, and proactively recommend enhancements to existing processes.
  
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g. Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or related discipline). Motivated fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proven experience using Python for data analysis, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Streamlit and SciPy.
• Strong foundation in statistics and applied data analysis techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to extract actionable insights from complex and unstructured data, supported by previous project examples or publications.
• Experience creating dashboards and visualizations using tools like Plotly, Dash, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (R&D scientists, engineers, QA/RA professionals) and present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with IVD product development, FDA regulatory processes, or healthcare data is a plus, but not strictly required.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and adapting to evolving priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving, data analysis and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.
