About The Role

We are working with a large tech company specializing in cutting-edge video and audio processing technologies. They are seeking a talented Senior FPGA Verification Engineer for their Ottawa-based team. This is an exciting opportunity where you'll play a key role in verifying the functionality and performance of advanced FPGA hardware designs used in high-quality video and audio products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive innovations for products that shape the future of media processing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and maintain FPGA verification test suites within a DevOps automation framework to ensure robust testing and comprehensive functionality coverage.
  • Collaborate closely with FPGA design engineers, software developers, and DevOps teams to enhance and integrate the testing environment.
  • Perform hands-on debugging and verification of hardware products to identify and resolve design and functionality issues.
  • Generate and maintain thorough documentation, including test plans and verification reports.
  • Support Product Verification and Quality Assurance teams to ensure seamless validation workflows.
  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies to provide product feedback and enhance collaboration.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Ottawa with the right to work in Canada.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in FPGA development with a focus on verification.
  • Proficient in FPGA verification methods (UVM), vendor tools such as Xilinx Vivado and Altera Quartus, and scripting languages, especially Python.
  • Experience with tools like ModelSim/QuestaSim for FPGA-specific test simulation.
  • Strong knowledge of interconnect protocols and high-speed interfaces like PCIe, Ethernet, SDI, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with video/audio technologies and international standards.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming for verification or hardware-software co-design projects.
