Here's how a HSE Supervisor for our Winnipeg office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices.
- Identifies, evaluates, develops and delivers project specific HSE training and assists with the development of district specific training.
- Implements HSE communication strategies on projects.
- Builds processes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
- Leads project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
- Works with project teams to provide recommendations regarding corrective actions of systemic issues.
- Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan.
- Monitors and audits trade partner HSE performance.
- Participates in on-site investigative processes and provides recommendations for and evaluating corrective actions taken.
- Supervise and mentor HSE Coordinators.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- National Construction Safety Officer Certification and has or actively pursuing Canadian Registered Safety Professional Certification desired.
- 7 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry.
- 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
- Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
