Job Description
WSP has a permanent employment opportunity for a Senior Wildlife Biologist in Alberta or Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will join our wildlife team working on a broad range of resource development projects in western and northern Canada.

- Manage wildlife components for various projects.
- Design and plan a variety of wildlife and wildlife habitat field programs following approved survey protocols.
- Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments, mitigation planning, and permitting processes.
- Analyze and interpret data; prepare project deliverables; provide senior review and sign-off.
- Contribute to proposals, including the development of scopes of work and associated budgets.
- Mentoring junior and intermediate staff.
- Client liaison and business development.
- Education: B.Sc. in appropriate discipline and/or advanced degree.
- A person with 10+ years of environmental industry experience.
- P Biol. or eligibility for registration.
- Extensive experience conducting a variety of wildlife surveys.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Understanding of Species at Risk requirements.
- Strong technical writing, reporting, communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with regulatory requirements for wildlife assessments at both the provincial and federal levels.
- Commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.
