What the Job Entails:

  • Develop, document and implement the Accounting Department's goals, policies, procedures, methods, projects and controls.
  • Manage full cycle accounting including month end close, financial reporting and general ledger maintenance.
  • Oversee Treasury management including cash flow forecasting and day to day banking requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (ASPE) and Canadian tax regulations.
  • Assists VP Finance in achieving planning and execution of various financial aspects for the Rise Air group of entities.
  • Provides data, reports and other information to assist in the preparation of the annual budget whilst coordinating with other departments concerning short- and long-range fiscal needs and plans as required.
  • Prepares monthly and year-end financial statements and financial statement packages, as well as ad-hoc financial reports, analysis, and reporting governed by provincial and federal regulations, in accordance with required time frames.

What We're Looking For:

  • CPA Designation required
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting. Preference will be given to candidates with up to two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Multi-entity or aviation experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in accounting and financial planning systems, including implementation of new systems or modules is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in strengthening internal controls and processes including developing and establishing financial policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to effectively direct and supervise others.
  • Experience with business intelligence and other areas of corporate financial and non-financial reporting is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion that have been tailored to their audience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
