We have now completed our pivotal clinical study, and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
Total cash – the total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus a contribution to a Registered Retirement Savings plans (RRSP) to help support your financial goals.
Comprehensive medical & dental coverage – for all permanent employees – effective as of Day 1, with no waiting period.
Work-day flexibility – additionally, we provide 3 personal days per year.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing oversight and hands on support of processing of bi-weekly payroll for 500+ employees, both salaried and hourly.
- Canadian provincial and federal, and US state and federal payroll-related regulatory and tax compliance.
- Supporting the Talent team with onboarding and offboarding employees, leaves of absence, etc.
- Handling internal payroll-related queries.
- Providing direction and mentorship for junior payroll team members, as well as strategic direction for the payroll function through planned company growth.
- Supporting the timely and successful delivery of finance strategic projects.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
- Post Secondary education in Accounting, Administration or a relevant field.
- Payroll management certifications (PCP, PLP).
- 8-10 years of hands-on payroll processing experience with salaried and hourly employees, with at least 2 years managing a team.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian and US payroll legislation, provincial and state registration, filings, withholdings, and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Experience with Dayforce (formerly Ceridian) or comparable large-scale payroll/HRIS software.
- Experience in a public company and familiarity with US GAAP and SOX 404 compliance.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset.
- Experience with accounting/bookkeeping principles is desirable.
- Great communication skills and enjoy working in a team setting.
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for finding innovative solutions to challenges.

- $110,000 - $130,000 (CAD Annually)
