Position Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Manager, Sales & Catering, this position is responsible for pursuing and servicing business for the River Rock Casino Resort while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, develops strong relationships with new and repeat guests and is accountable for the sales of in-house conferences and events including guest rooms, meeting rooms, catering, theatre and casino related functions and events. Finds and develops markets in coordination to the need-periods of the resort.
Key Accountabilities
Regular back-office environment, some exposure to noise, some travel, some exposure to verbal abuse, may have non-traditional work hours

Every team member must comply with all requirements of the Corporate Ethics & Conduct Manual and with all other corporate policies communicated to the employee.
Every team member will be familiarized with the business process documentation and internal control objectives related to their position, and how their job description aligns with specific internal control activities for which they are responsible.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Manager, Sales & Catering, this position is responsible for pursuing and servicing business for the River Rock Casino Resort while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, develops strong relationships with new and repeat guests and is accountable for the sales of in-house conferences and events including guest rooms, meeting rooms, catering, theatre and casino related functions and events. Finds and develops markets in coordination to the need-periods of the resort.
Key Accountabilities
- Solicits, negotiates and books new and repeat business through mailing, on- site inspections, referrals, tradeshows, etc.; maximizes sales and profitability of the resort
- Plans, up-sells and details meetings and function with the client, including space requirements, dates, times, equipment, menus, billing instructions, etc
- Conduct site tours/inspections throughout the resort
- Manages and resolves guest issues efficiently and promptly
- Liaises closely with Food and Beverage/Kitchen to develop menus, pricing
- Liaises closely with the Banquets operation to ensure a smooth implementation of each event
- Develops strong relationships with Tourism BC, Vancouver and Richmond Tourism, airlines, travel agencies and other associations
- Maintain accurate records on all River Rock Casino Resort’s guests, orders, payments and expenses
- Develops and maintains knowledge of market trends, competition and guests’ requirements
- Assists the Director, Sales and Catering to develop new sales and catering marketing strategies to increase guest satisfaction and maximize profits
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
- High School Diploma
- Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience
- SIR, Smart Serve or IGB Certificate
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Experience with Opera/Fidelio, Micros an asset
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Sales and Catering
