Ce que vous ferez

  • Report to the Regional Environmental Manager and the respective Project Manager as required by your specific project assignment.
  • Be responsible for identifying the necessary resources (including personnel, equipment, and materials) required of the project to ensure that environmental and regulatory compliance is achieved and maintained (and as per the project master schedule and construction progress) for the duration of the project.
  • Take accountability for implementing the project environmental management system, including developing project-specific environmental management plans, permit applications, routine monitoring reports, and environmental incident reports as well as the delivery of environmental awareness training.
  • Provide quality control of all submittals and other compliance documentation (e.g., ensuring cohesiveness between the various plans, application packages, permits, etc. and updates as required to remain current)
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate environmental risks to the project, ensuring proposed measures are timely, effective, and supplemented as necessary.
  • Lead a team of environmental monitors, external consultants, and third party Qualified Environmental Professionals (QEP) to provide adequate support and oversight through routine environmental monitoring, field sampling, compliance assessments, and pre-work surveys or salvage activities, striving to continuously improve upon identified environmental performance indicators.
  • As appropriate, and as dictated by the contract, operate as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, including Indigenous groups, government agencies, and the public.
  • Be an agent of change and generally foster a positive culture of environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance for the duration of the project.

Ce rôle est fait pour vous si vous avez

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or diploma) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Geology, or similar field.
  • Working knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and the compliance management systems necessary to monitor, document, track, and report on the items as they apply to a respective project.
  • Leverages a repertoire of technical skills and is capable of directly undertaking or overseeing the implementation of environmental data collection programs, such as for water quality, soil characterization, bioinventories, habitat assessments, erosion and sediment control measures, and waste tracking. Is appropriately experienced to provide the necessary degree of quality control and assurance.
  • Sufficient, demonstrated, experience working on complex, large scale civil and/or infrastructure development projects in the Construction, Resource Extraction, and/or Energy sectors in a similar capacity and for projects having comparable scopes and/or risks.

Qualifications (preferred)

  • Professional designation (e.g., Registered Professional Biologist, Professional Agrologist, Professional Engineer, etc.) or eligible to apply and receive.
  • Experience working on projects with tunneling as a core scope of work (similar construction experience that has a focus on material management, spoil characterization, management of potentially acid generating rock, and process waste management (i.e., wastewater treatment systems).\
  • Is a collaborative team player with excellent intrapersonal skills but is also self motivated and driven when necessary.
