OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross has an immediate opening for a Team Manager to lead our Government Insights and Reporting team. This team is responsible for addressing the data and information needs of our government clients by producing contractual reports, responding to ad-hoc data requests, performing plan analytics, and supporting and maintaining a self-service reporting website.
As the Team Manager, you will oversee and supervise the Government Insights and Reporting team, playing a critical role in ensuring that data requests and contractual reports are delivered on time, meet the highest quality standards, and fulfill the needs of our government clients. You will directly communicate with government representatives to facilitate data requests and collaborate with internal departments to ensure resources and processes are aligned to meet the team's goals effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, prioritize workload, and perform quality assurance on deliverables.
- Provide regular and timely feedback to team members. Through coaching and mentoring, support the professional development and engagement of the team.
- Collaborate with reporting analysts to design innovative solutions for more complex deliverables.
- Make recommendations on the design and delivery of reports, analytics practices, and process improvements.
- Gather business requirements from both external and internal stakeholders and manage tasks and timelines.
- Build strong working relationships with government clients, the internal government business unit, and other internal departments.
- An undergraduate degree, diploma, or certification in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of proven leadership experience in developing and leading a team of technical professionals. Strong planning, organization, delegation, and follow-up skills are essential.
- Familiarity with database querying and reporting methodologies, with a working knowledge of database management functions and various reporting tools and techniques.
- A self-starter who can work independently while fostering a supportive and dynamic team environment.
- Experience with reporting tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI) is an asset.
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office products.
- Strong ability to present information effectively, including converting data into visualizations and telling the story behind the data. Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, and/or MicroStrategy is a plus.
- Up-to-date knowledge of advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, and emerging tools and methodologies in data science.
- A curious thinker who questions the status quo and brings forward new, innovative ideas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
