The Collections Agent will play an active role in managing the risk associated with accounts receivable and recovering outstanding balances. He/She will communicate regularly with both internal and external clients, in line with the company’s collections strategy.

As a Collections Agent, You Will

• Take ownership of assigned branches;
• Communicate with customers on a regular basis regarding payment follow-ups, payment details, account openings, disputes, and credits to be applied to accounts;
• Liaise with branches, internal and external sales representatives, managers, and customer service to follow up on payments, credit limit reviews, pending orders, client information, etc.;
• Make collection calls and follow-ups;
• Handle communication and follow-ups via email;
• Build strong relationships with customers, branches, and representatives;
• Complete new customer profiles in the system, assign credit limits, and update/review limits for existing customers;
• Release orders and pre-orders in accordance with the company’s internal policies and approval framework;
• Be able to grant credit approvals within company guidelines;
• Resolve disputes, identify issues, and follow up with branches to secure payments;
• Request and occasionally negotiate credit limit reviews or term extensions with our accounts receivable insurance partners;
• Report delinquent accounts and submit claims to our credit insurance providers;
• Reconcile and maintain customer accounts;
• Prepare documentation for collection agencies and bad debt write-offs;
• Prepare various reports;
• Perform any other related tasks.

• Your training as a Collections Agent, along with your 5+ years of experience in collections and credit analysis in the distribution or manufacturing sector, and your expertise in the commercial and industrial fields, have provided you with all the knowledge required to perform your duties effectively;
• Knowledge of international collections is considered an asset;
• Flexibility: You are available to make calls outside Eastern Time hours when required by your portfolio or assigned region (e.g., overseas countries, Asia, etc.);
• Reliability: You are diligent and detail-oriented;

• Negotiation: Your strong negotiation skills have consistently helped you achieve your goals;

• Computer skills: You have solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with SAP;
