Reporting to the Finance Support Manager, the Payroll Administrator will support the Industrial Finance group with timely and accurate payroll processing, as well as organizing craft employee records.

The role is based out of Mississauga, ON.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of payroll entries with timesheets and other cost allocations, including liabilities, burdens, and amounts charged to projects or overheads.
  • Support the processing of time entries from the accounting system to ensure timely and accurate payroll calculations.
  • Coordinate with payroll and operational finance departments to resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintain craft employee records, align rates and classifications with union agreements, and update personal information as needed.
  • Enter time cards for salaried employees; redirecting time from overhead costs to projects.
  • Process new hires and re-hires, rate changes, and terminations.
  • Provide employment letters and verification. Submit record of employment reports to Service Canada and to sites as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


What We Are Looking For

  • Post-secondary educational background in Accounting or Finance or a combination of equivalent skills and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry, project-based environment, or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong computer, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information, and agility to re-prioritize tasks to meet deadlines is required.
  • Adaptable with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others in a team environment and contribute to the team in an efficient, effective, and positive manner.
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Viewpoint / OnBase would be an asset.
