We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Hands-On Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst to join our finance team for both Wolfhead & Timberwolf Group. Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and controlling costs to improve financial efficiency and profitability. This role involves hands-on involvement in cost accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze, and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
- Perform detailed cost analysis and report on cost variances, trends, and drivers.
- Work closely with operations and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to cost structures.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
- Review inventory valuation, standard cost updates, and work-in-process accounting.
- Ensure accurate allocation of costs to products, departments, and projects.
- Support pricing decisions by providing cost data and margin analysis.
- Monitor production costs and recommend adjustments to enhance efficiency.
- Assist with audits and compliance requirements related to cost accounting.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance cost accounting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
