We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Hands-On Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst to join our finance team for both Wolfhead & Timberwolf Group. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to drive cost-saving initiatives.


Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and controlling costs to improve financial efficiency and profitability. This role involves hands-on involvement in cost accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
  • Perform detailed cost analysis and report on cost variances, trends, and drivers.
  • Work closely with operations and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to cost structures.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
  • Review inventory valuation, standard cost updates, and work-in-process accounting.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of costs to products, departments, and projects.
  • Support pricing decisions by providing cost data and margin analysis.
  • Monitor production costs and recommend adjustments to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with audits and compliance requirements related to cost accounting.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance cost accounting accuracy.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
