We’re looking for a Certified Electrician to join our Heffley Creek division, located in Kamloops, British Columbia. With approximately 250 employees, Heffley Creek Division produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year, for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.  

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:  

• Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket. 
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards. 
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, with little supervision and with a team. 
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
• As we are a 24/7 operation we require individuals to have the ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends that rotate every two weeks.
  • Day shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Evening shift 3:30 pm to 12 am
  • Graveyard shift 12 am - 7 am 
  • Weekend 12 hour shifts + 1, 8 hour shift make up day during the week
• As we are not located in an area that is transit accessible individuals must have reliable means of getting to and from work.

In this role you will:

• Apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
• Use your broad electrical experience to do preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
• Use your passion for continuously improving equipment reliability to come up with solutions that keep our industrial electrical equipment and controls repaired and maintained.
• Apply your organizational and planning skills to carry out maintenance projects and programs.
• Be responsible for general housekeeping, keeping equipment clean etc
• Work long durations of working while standing, repetitive twisting and bending
• Be exposed to hot and cold temperatures (mostly indoor work but exposed to external temperatures)
