Responsibilities

Reporting to the Lead Planner, the Category Planner is accountable for the planning and scheduling of the production lines including raw materials and packaging materials. This includes the maintenance of data to enable accurate and efficient planning.

• Planning and scheduling production for specific categories;
• Ordering raw materials for the production lines;
• Planning and maintaining adequate inventories of both raw materials and finished product;
• Working with Corporate Planning to ensure that customer needs are met;
• Working with the Production Department to ensure that a workable production schedule is provided;
• Interfacing with a variety of departments such as: operations, maintenance, material handling, warehouse, shipment planning, finance and customer service;
• Interfacing with material suppliers;
• Work with Corporate Packaging to minimize write-offs for transitional items.
  
  

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma/degree, or related business experience;
• Warehouse, Planning, and Production knowledge;
• Familiar with traffic and distribution systems and procedures.
• A strong computer aptitude
