Our Ontario Transportation Group is looking for a Lead Engineer ready to join our growing Canadian Operations. The position can be located in any of our Whitby, Markham, Toronto, Mississauga, St. Catharines, or Waterloo offices. It is understood that you will primarily work remotely from your residence near London, ON.
The Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with Provincial, Regional, and local municipal transportation agencies, as well as select contracting partners, on large-scale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways, roads and bridges, transit and multi-modal infrastructure, and transportation planning. Our team provides integrated transportation services throughout the project lifecycle from initial policy, transportation economics, and business case advice, through planning, concept, environmental assessment, detailed design, construction administration, and asset management support.

Candidates’ career path:
- This role is intended for a Senior Engineering Professional seeking to continue their career by providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to our project managers, engineers, and technicians.
- Successful participation in the pursuit and delivery of roadway, highway, and freeway projects, and/or multi-modal corridors including surface LRT/BRT.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
- Collaboration in small and large teams. Working with Project Managers and design teams to generate creative solutions to complex engineering and design issues.
- Leading quality reviews of projects and proposals. Working with Project Managers and design staff to deliver quality submissions on time and on budget.
- Liaising with key stakeholders and clients, including participation in GHD’s Key Client program (particularly MTO & City of Toronto).
- Contributing to business development and growth with key clients through the development of our organizational strategy, capture planning, and proposal preparation for key pursuits.
- Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering
- Ontario P.Eng. designation required
- 30+ years' experience in the management, design, and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects
- Experience and understanding of conventional and alternative infrastructure delivery models
- Experience working with MTO and municipal transportation clients within Ontario
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical staff
