Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Representative to promote, sell, and provide technical support for building products. The ideal candidate will represent our company’s products to various clients, including architects, developers, building/property owners, contractors, and installers, within their designated region and business unit.


Duties:

• Plan and prioritize personal sales activities to achieve budget and sales goals.

• Collaborate with leadership to establish yearly budgets and sales objectives.

• Contribute to the planning and execution of marketing activities for product and company promotion.

• Identify potential and existing clients’ needs and recommend suitable products.

• Present and promote products to potential and existing clients, including architects, developers, building/property owners, contractors, and installers.

• Respond to and follow up on sales inquiries.

• Use customer and prospect contact tools and systems, ensuring all information is up to date.

• Provide ongoing support to clients after the sale to resolve issues and maintain relationships.

• Stay up to date on product information, availability, and cost through regular communication with manufacturers.

• Manage pricing and margins in accordance with the manufacturer’s costs, agreed budgets, and goals.

• Provide order details to Inside Sales Representatives for quote creation, ensuring all quotations adhere to pricing and margin targets.

• Establish and maintain an installer base.

• Monitor projects that are out for tender or coming out for tender.

• Review construction details and project specifications for architects and installers regarding building products in relation to manufacturer specifications and recommended installation details.

• Oversee and review any shop drawings, fabrication drawings, or details sent to specifiers.

• Visit construction sites to review product installations.

• Attend training to continue developing relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.

• Adhere to company policies and health & safety procedures.

• Ensure CRM system is consistently updated with relevant client and project information.

• Achieve annual budget and sales objectives as agreed with leadership.

• Maintain daily records of sales activities and client projects, ensuring all data is entered accurately and promptly.

• Provide weekly sales reports detailing goals achieved, planned goals for the coming week, and performance analysis.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

• Ability to read architectural drawings

• Bilingual – spoken French; written would also be a positive attribute

• Self-motivated

• Ability to use Word and Excel.

• Strong organizational skills

  • Good communication skills
