Job Description

The Opportunity:

Make your mark while you grow your career! We are looking for a Plant Operator to join our Albian Operations - MRM Plant team in Ore Prep & Extraction. As a Plant Operator, you will operate the plant to meet planned production, quality and environmental targets. We are looking for self-starter who is adaptable, works well in a high paced team environment, and has a continuous improvement mindset with the drive to enact change. This position reports to the Shift Team Lead.

  • Job location: Albian Site - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the safety of people, equipment, and the environment while ensuring plant procedures and policies are followed
  • Perform plant operation duties including proactive equipment monitoring and rounds in a safe and efficient manner and ensure shift changes are well communicated with oncoming crew
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance using Lock Out Tag outs (LOTO’s) energy isolation of equipment
  • Issuing Safe Work Permits within a plant operating environment
  • Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
  • Utilize our maintenance management system and entering work orders for deficiencies that need to be repaired

What You Bring To The Role

  • Mechanical aptitude to manage hands-on operation of plant equipment and operation of mobile equipment such as skid steers, JLGs, forklifts etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven safety and environmental mindset and ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Valid and clean Class 5 driver’s license
