Description

Located out of the Inter Pipeline Sherwood Park office, the Manager Control Centre, Pipeline Operations (the “Manager”) will report to the General Manager, Pipeline Operations.

As a strategic Leader the Manager will set a vision for the department and shape it into practice and procedure. The Manager will foster a spirit of unity and teamwork and drive the development of a world-class workforce. This exciting position is instrumental in facilitating growth of the business and will energize the department to execute projects with excellent results.

As a Leader of Leaders, the Manager will have the skills and expertise to put plans into motion and drive for continual improvement with a focus towards corporate goals and plans.

Responsibilities


  • Administer the department by meeting reporting and financial requirements, as well as maintaining personnel, regulatory and legal obligations that must be met on a timely basis.
  • Plan and maintain work systems and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources within the business unit.
  • Provide technical support as requested to support applicable growth, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Review performance data that includes financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness
  • Mentoring and coaching all team members.
  • Delegate department workload effectively and monitor its progress towards completion while maintaining the ultimate responsibility for this work.
  • Establish monthly, quarterly and annual scorecards to report KPI’s associated with group responsibilities and communicate accordingly.
  • Ensure all internal group departments’ needs are met by having regular dialogue with group leaders. Ensure action items program audits findings have corrective actions implemented promptly.
  • Ensure the proper support and training, skills and knowledge exist so to achieve, sustain, and retain a qualified and valued workforce.
  • Set a positive example and positive tone for communication and collaboration within the department and with all other internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all reports within the department have up to date Roles and Responsibilities, training plans, goals and objectives, and complete performance reviews twice per year: one mid-year and one year end.
  • Cost Management responsibilities including managing annual budgets, five-year plans, compliance and managing overtime and vacation carryover.


Education, Skills And Experience


  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a large working teams within pipeline operations
  • Strong knowledge of systems and tools such as SharePoint, Maximo, and Microsoft suite of products
  • Control room experience, scheduling, experience with leak detections systems
  • SAP budgeting and SCADA system experience

Monday-Friday, full-time

The Sherwood Park Inter Pipeline office offers a friendly and respectful working environment. Close to amenities and easy access to the Henday and Yellowhead with free parking.

As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol, drivers abstract and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
