RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The candidate will work for Dr. Lily Hechtman, the director of the research division of the Child Psychiatry department. The person chosen must be able to perform all aspects of complex administrative tasks according to established methods and procedures.

Role

  • Ensure general administration of the ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder research) program,
  • Provide basic technical help with online meeting, word processing software, and PowerPoint presentations),
  • General clinical responsibilities.

General Duties

Administrative Responsibilities

  • General office administration: timesheets, answering phone calls, accounting, emails, research staff, filing and photocopying documents,
  • Technical assistance with preparation of documents (research grants, journal articles, PowerPoint presentations),
  • Managing ethics approval of research studies.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct academic assessments, write reports,
  • Conduct telephone screenings and patient follow-up,
  • Facilitate group interventions for adolescents with ADHD,
  • Serve as a coach for adolescents with ADHD, which includes conducting weekly phone calls with the adolescents to provide support based on group intervention,
  • Administer and score questionnaires, data summary and data entry.

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Other education considered an asset for this position: Bachelor’s degree, secretarial training

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Some experience in a research program/medical settings,
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe essential.

Additional Information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: $34,125.00to $51,178.40. Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: 9 AM to 5 PM

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
