Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies is seeking a regular, full time (1.0 FTE) Faculty.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for courses involving technical mathematics, calculus, or statistics to students in a variety of different technology areas. Other duties may include curriculum development and review, peer and student evaluation, administrative duties, project proposals, student advising, working on departmental projects, and technology liaison.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Content Expertise
- Graduate degree in Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
- At least one year of work experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
- Experience teaching post-secondary mathematics with full course responsibility.
- Understanding of various learning styles and teaching strategies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Success at initiating, executing and following up on projects
- Proficiency with current MS Office
- Computer programming experience desirable
- Professional attitudes which stress commitment, responsibility for professional growth, open-mindedness, flexibility
- Ability to motivate others
- Ability to accept feedback and handle conflict
- Team player

Salary Range: $63,150 - $110,238 per annum.
Additional Salary Information: Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
