About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Leader to join our dynamic design team. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading the technical aspects of our projects, ensuring excellence in execution, and driving innovation in our design solutions. The ideal candidate will be BCIN registered with strong background in interior design, coupled with exceptional leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, impactful design solutions within the corporate environment

About the Deliverables

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide visionary leadership to the technical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Technical Leadership:
  • BCIN registered.
  • Stamp and seal all interior projects for permitting with BCIN
  • Corresponding with building officials on permit plan inquiries and concerns.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of all design projects, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate technical requirements into design solutions.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance reviews of design deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards, ensuring that designs comply with all applicable requirements.
  • Implement quality control processes to maintain high standards of design excellence and client satisfaction.
Innovation for Technical and Design Excellence:
  • Drive innovation in design technology and methodologies, leveraging emerging trends and best practices to enhance design outcomes.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, challenging team members to push the boundaries of design excellence.
  • Ensure that technical design solutions align with the company's brand identity, values, and objectives.

About You

  • Our ideal candidate would have...
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) in the relevant jurisdiction, with experience stamping documents.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in corporate interior design, with a focus on technical leadership.
  • Exceptional knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to interior design and construction.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive innovation in design solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software is an asset.
  • Professional certification (e.g., NCIDQ) is a plus.
