Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with experience in Stormwater Management and Drainage Design to join our Greater Toronto Area Drainage Team. Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance. We need our Engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within Drainage discipline, which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing hydrologic and hydraulic models for Municipal Roads, Highways, Rail and Transit projects
  • Helping preparation of technical reports and memorandums
  • Developing and/or supervising the creation of engineering products that meet client quality requirements
  • Coordinate drainage requirements for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses
  • Carry out drainage field assessments, analysis and evaluations as required
  • Assisting regulatory applications and approvals
  • Providing support for construction activities as project engineer or contract administrator
  • Supporting proposal preparation and business development works
  • Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 4+ years of related work experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration or eligibility to register with PEO is required.
  • Postgraduate degree in water resources will be an asset.
  • Familiar with climate change impact studies will be an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience using current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software (EPA/PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, Visual OTTHYMO, Civil3D/MicroStation) for use in completing engineering assignments.
