Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is be responsible for posting journal entries, recording, updating, and maintaining documentation. You must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and be able to work well in a team setting.

What we look for?

  • Minimum of 2 years accounting work experience.
  • Experience with:
    • the transaction accounting of a construction company.
    • a multi-company organization, working with intercompany transactions and consolidations.
    • Corporations, limited partnerships, and joint ventures would be considered an asset.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates that bring extensive experience in lieu of educational designations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, sales and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics considered an asset.
  • Desire for continuing education and personal development.
What will you do?
  • Posting revenue, payments, and direct deposits.
  • Recording invoices and journal entries for intercompany transactions.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of certain general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciling banks, accounts payable and accounts receivable subledgers.
  • Assisting in preparation of Quarterly Financial Statements for smaller companies.
  • Assisting in the reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Assisting in GST and PST calculation and depositing of the cheques.

  • Maintaining employee expense system.
  • Assisting in recording of the monthly corporate credit card and employee expenses.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
