Payroll & HR Coordinator - #380760

JABS Group of Companies is a long-standing, family owned and operated property management business in Kelowna. Multiple residential and commercial properties in Thompson-Okanagan and Edmonton are not only built and managed by JABS, but also owned by the company to this day.

Their office team may be small in numbers, but big in their commitment to loyalty, integrity, fostering close relationships and supporting each other in daily work. Currently, they are looking for a like-minded individual to take responsibility for company payroll and HR. This position comes with flexibility to work onsite or hybrid once training is completed, and work hours are determined by the payroll cycle and HR needs, rather than a set schedule. The general expectation is for 12-16 hours/week.

More specifically, the areas of responsibility will include:

• Payroll Administration – Preparing and inputting bi-weekly payroll using ADP online software; setting up new payroll accounts and making applicable changes/updates; issuing pay statements, ROE’s and yearly T4’s; generating payroll reports for each pay period and year end.
• Human Resources Administration – Maintaining personnel files; keeping track of vacation days, probation periods, sick days; administering benefits, enrollments/cancellations; preparing employment documents; managing mobile phone accounts.
• Recruitment – Drafting job descriptions; advertising job openings and screening for suitable candidates; arranging and participating in interviews; conducting reference checks; orienting new hires.
• Compliance – Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures; implementing new policies or changes as per leadership’s direction; consulting on HR related issues as needed.
• Employee Support – Addressing any HR issues brought to your attention by employees; answering employment related questions; providing necessary support to staff on leave and coordinating their return to work.
