MPE, a division of Englobe, is looking for an Bridge Engineer Lead to join one of our offices in either Calgary, Lethbridge, or Edmonton. MPE is a full-service, multi-disciplinary engineering team in the municipal, water resources, and building services sectors. Your Contribution Your responsibilities as the Bridge Engineer Lead will be working as the Lead Bridge Engineer under the Transportation group in our Calgary, Lethbridge, or Edmonton office. This role will primarily include the development and management of a bridge group while, supporting the other MPE offices and disciplines, writing proposals, and managing projects. The role will also include planning, assessment, reporting, design, and inspection for bridge projects. Prepare preliminary and detailed design calculations. Prepare technical reports, project specifications and other contract documents. Develop structural details and construction plans. Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations to include 2D and 3D analysis for bridges as well as foundations, infrastructure and retaining walls. Conduct design check and quality audit of drawings and contract documents. Conduct site visits and inspections. Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior engineers, technologists, and technicians. Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules Your Profile Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university. A Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.). Over 10 years of experience in the design of bridges and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code. Demonstrated experience in the area of bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm. Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD. Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation or evaluation of existing bridges; steel and concrete structures. Work independently and interact well with other staff, and mentor junior staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity.
