NexGen Mechanical Solutions is a privately-owned mechanical service provider that repairs and maintains commercial transport, trailers, construction and mining, heavy equipment, fleet automotive and power generator equipment across the Yukon, North West Territories and British Columbia. At NexGen we pride ourselves on our commitment to delivery to meet and exceed our customers’ needs and expectations.

NexGen is seeking a Parts Person / Parts Runner to join our team based out of Whitehorse, YT. Ideally the candidate will have knowledge of the heavy construction and highway tractor industries, although we are willing to train the right candidate.

Source, Quote, maintain a parts inventory, coordinate parts and freight going to and from field sites. Loading, unloading and transport parts and materials, process and maintain accurate records, work closely with parts suppliers.

Wage is dependent on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Handle and transport materials

• Operate skid-steer and forklifts

• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform task as needed

• Perform administrative tasks as required

• Coordinate with the office, supervisors and parts suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies for technicians

Requirements:

• Previous Shop/trades knowledge

• Able to use basic computer programs

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to work unsupervised and in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to problem-solve and solution-oriented mind set

• Good physical strength and stamina (e.g. lifting ability of 50lbs, work extended hours when needed)

• Must be organized & self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Motivated team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer

• Able to work over-time and weekends if needed

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license or above

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Must be available to work Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• Mechanical knowledge is an asset but not required.
